Action Learning is a team-based process that goes beyond traditional problem-solving.

Teams foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and innovation by working together on real organizational challenges.

Key Features of Action Learning

  • Teams tackle real problems they face, fostering immediate relevance and impact.

  • Teams work together, leveraging diverse perspectives and expertise to generate creative solutions.

  • Learning happens through doing, with reflection and feedback as key components.

  • Action Learning builds a cycle of learning and adaptation, enabling teams to navigate ongoing change.

How It Works

Action Learning involves a structured process that includes the following steps:

  1. Identify a Real-World Challenge: The organization identifies a set of adaptive, strategic problems facing the organization.

  2. Form Teams: Diverse groups of peers are brought together to work on the organizational challenges.

  3. Action Learning Meetings: With the support of a coach, the team holds structured meetings action to address the challenge while simultaneously developing leadership skills.

  4. Capstone Presentation: This cycle of action, reflection, and feedback culminates in a capstone presentation to senior leaders.

Benefits of Action Learning

  • Enhanced problem-solving: Develop critical thinking, decision-making, and strategic thinking skills.

  • Improved collaboration: Foster trust, open communication, and a shared sense of ownership.

  • Increased agility: Build resilience and adaptability to navigate uncertainty and change effectively.

  • Stronger leadership: Develop leadership skills at all levels, empowering individuals to lead through influence.
